Who we are
Leah Dozeman - President
I’m a lifelong Wheat Ridge resident raising my two sons — along with our three dogs and three fainting goats — in my childhood home. My commitment to community runs deep, and that’s shaped my journey through public service, professional fundraising, and a decade of leading the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival Parade. Whether serving two terms on City Council or coordinating large community events, I’ve always believed in building strong relationships, elevating others, and bringing people together.
As your candidate for Class President, I bring experience in consensus building, clear communication, and mobilizing people around shared goals. My background in fundraising has taught me how to make participation simple, transparent, and meaningful — something I believe is essential to ensuring our class gift reflects our shared priorities. I’m ready to lead with steadiness, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to helping our class stay engaged and connected.
Most importantly, I care deeply about our class. I believe we have incredible potential — not just throughout the program, but long after graduation. As Class President, I’ll work to strengthen our relationships, deepen our ties to the broader LPR network, and help build the kind of long-term class legacy that embodies the spirit of Leaders in Action. It would be an honor to serve and represent our cohort.
Jamie Chavez - Vice President
I'm a proud mom to two amazing young girls — the role that inspires everything I do. I currently serve on the Board of Directors at their charter school, where I advocate for choice in education and strong family-school partnerships.
Professionally, I’m the President and CEO of the Westminster Chamber of Commerce, where I champion the business community and fight for free-market values every day. I know what it means to create opportunity, not just talk about it — because I'm also a small business owner myself.
From boardrooms to breakfast tables, I believe leadership is about building something bigger than yourself. That’s the spirit I bring to this campaign — and to our class.
